About A.T. Gomes

Adriana was born in Brazil at the end of its military dictatorship, but she still caught its final breath. She remembers forming lines, pledging allegiance to the country’s flag and generals, and marching to class first thing in the morning every school day.

She attended a Catholic school all through 8th grade and carries the guilt to prove it. She studied electronic engineering and worked in telecommunications.

Originally from São Paulo, she lived in Shanghai, Florida, Georgia, and finally settled down in California with her husband and two daughters.

She’s been telling stories and writing them since she was a kid. She completed UC Berkeley Extension’s certificate program in writing and was lucky to be a mentee in the SFWA Mentorship Program – Winter 2023.

Adriana loves reading and writing science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and magical realism, and she has a couple of written novels in a drawer.

She’s querying a book about an actor with attitude problems who works as a “Costumed Performer” to pay the bills when AI constructs have taken over all acting jobs in movies and TV shows. She’s working on her next manuscript while collecting rejection letters.
